How to clean silver that turns black?
It is very common for silver to turn black; what happens when metal is exposed to hydrogen sulfide in the air. This chemical reaction affects the surface and thin layer around the jewel, making it possible to eliminate the darkening and restore the shine.
Toothpaste
Not only does it keep your mouth free from cavities, it gives light to your chains and bracelets. First wash your silver ornaments with soap and water , then cover with the paste for five minutes. Rinse with cold water and pat dry.
Dish soap, salt and vinegar
In a bowl, mix water, sea salt, a tablespoon of white vinegar and dish soap . Put down the objects you want to clean, let them rest for about 20 minutes, rinse and wipe with a towel or soft fiber cloth.
Sodium bicarbonate
Stir a little baking soda with water to form a paste, with which you will rub the silver until the dark spots disappear . Clean with water and dry with a new flannel.
